This page includes a list of national counseling related job sites that provide links to available jobs of interest to professional counselors. In addition, there are links to sites that provide information on a wide range of available jobs, including positions related to the field of professional counseling. In addition, many of these sites provide resources that can help prepare you for your job search.

National Counseling Related Job Sites

  • American Counseling Association - ACA is the world’s largest association exclusively representing counselors in various practice settings. The ACA Career Center page provides an updated list of available counseling jobs.

  • American School Counselor Association - The ASCA website includes an online career service for members and employers. Currently provides a limited listing of jobs.

  • Association for Counselor Education and Supervision - The ACES website posts counseling job listings for both university and clinical positions. Viewers can search for jobs nationally or by a specific state or geographic region.

  • Chronicle of Higher Education - The Chronicle lists available university faculty positions in counselor education and other counseling-related academic programs.

  • Council for American Private Education - This site provides a listing of job links for education within various private school systems.

  • - This site allows viewers to search for academic listings in all disciplines. Here counselors can find information on available faculty positions as well as any campus staff counseling positions.

  • - Site features thousands of mental health job listings. Viewers will need to register and create an account before accessing the available listings.

  • K-12 Jobs - This site lists job opportunities in K-12 settings.

  • - This site lists social service jobs available throughout the United States in all areas and specialties of social services.

  • - Education’s premiere recruitment service provides job posting for both educators and school counselors. To search for a job, viewers will need to complete a free membership before gaining access to the employment postings.

General Job Sites

  • Career One Stop - This site provides wages and employment trends, occupational requirements, state by state labor market conditions, millions of employer contacts nationwide, an extensive career resource library online, and over 1 million jobs available in the extensive job database.

  • CareerBuilder - A large listing of jobs with presence in more than 130 newspapers with more than 900,000 jobs.

  • College Grad - Offers a variety of resources and job postings to help graduates obtain jobs.

  • College Recruiter - This site is for college students and graduates who are looking for internships, part-time jobs, summer employment, seasonal work, entry level positions, other career opportunities.

  • Federal Government Jobs - This site has listings for more than 17,000 federal jobs.

  • - Commercial job search site that also features many counseling positions. Jobs are posted from across the country and updated regularly so check back often!

  • Occupational Outlook Handbook- This site provides an online version of the Occupational Outlook Handbook. Revised every two years, the Handbook describes what workers do on the job, working conditions, the training and education needed, earnings, and expected job prospects in a wide range of occupations.

  • Resume Tutorial (Quintessential Career) - This site offers career and job-hunting advice (through articles, tools, tips, samples, and tutorials), as well as links to job sites. Special sections for teens, college students, and all other job-seekers (by industry, geography, and job-seeker type) makes this site a comprehensive resource.

  • True Careers - This site helps educated, diverse candidates break through the cluttered job market and find attractive, high-paying job opportunities more reflective of the value of their education.
