If you have previously been an approved member of Chi Sigma Iota (CSI), please renew and update your account rather than creating a new one. If you need assistance, you may contact info@csi-net.org.

Membership in CSI is extended to eligible students who meet CSI's membership criteria as defined in the CSI Bylaws. Chapter Faculty Advisors (CFAs) review student eligibility and provide a written letter (or email) of invitation to become a CSI member by joining a local CSI chapter. If you have not received such a letter of invitation, please check with your CFA to confirm your eligibility for membership.

CSI Member Types & Eligibitity Requirements:
  • Counselor Educator (Faculty members only) - Faculty who have earned doctoral degrees specifically in Counseling.
  • Master's Level Student (Currently enrolled) - Master's students applying for a new CSI membership and currently enrolled in a master's or specialist counseling program, regardless of full or part-time work status.
  • Doctoral Level Student (Currently enrolled) - Doctoral students applying for a new CSI membership and currently enrolled in a doctoral counseling program, regardless of full or part-time work status.
  • Professional Counselor (Practitioners only) - Completed master's degree in counseling and eligible to work in the counseling field; NOT currently enrolled in a specialist or doctoral counseling program.

Individuals who are not qualified to be a CSI member, but who would like to access certain features on CSI's website that are limited to members (e.g., webinars for NBCC-approved Continuing Education hours) may register as a temporary Guest; however, Guests will incur a charge to access webinars and other features that are free for CSI members. A completed application and payment of dues must be submitted at the same time. Applications submitted without payment cannot be processed or saved. We recommend using the Firefox Internet browser to complete the New Member Registration. Please turn off pop-up blockers. Automated emails such as the E-News, webinar announcements, and renewal notices will be sent to the email address you enter.  If you anticipate that your campus email system may block mass emails or will be discontinued after you graduate, you may want to use an email address that is not affiliated with your university.

CSI does not share or sell members’ information. Information requested within membership applications is intended to help CSI International identify member eligibility, benefits, initiatives, service opportunities, and activities that are most relevant to specific members (e.g., information requested about current employment setting may be used to connect CSI members to resources that benefit their specific practice setting - as a practitioner, counselor educator, school counselor, etc.). Additionally, CSI uses third parties (e.g., PayPal) for all e-commerce and CSI does not collect or retain member information (e.g., credit card numbers) for ecommerce.
