<title>Dr. Russell A. Chapman</title>

<description><![CDATA[The former faculty and students of South University-High Point were saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Russell Alan Chapman on July 12, 2021, at the age of 57. He and Dr. Joan Lawrence were the founding Chapter Faculty Advisors of CSI’s Zeta Pi Epsilon
Chapter in 2015.<br /><br />Dr. Chapman had a passion for teaching, and he previously taught at Sonoma State University, Winston-Salem State University, Guilford College, and multiple community colleges in North Carolina. He received his Ph.D. in Counselor
Education and Counseling from North Carolina State University in 2006. His dissertation was titled, “Cybersupervision of Entry Level Practicum Supervisees: The Effect on Acquisition of Counselor Competence and Confidence,” and he later published his research
on this topic in <i>Counselor Education and Supervision</i>. He also published in the <i>Journal of Counseling and Technology</i>. <br /><br />At South University-High Point, Dr. Chapman served as the Program Director of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling
master’s degree program for several years and ensured that the program became CACREP-accredited. He will be remembered for the care and concern that he consistently showed to his students and co-workers.&nbsp; In the words of his colleague Dr. Lawrence,
"He worked tirelessly to take care of everyone. His compassion was his driving force."<br /><br />As published in his <a href="https://www.forbisanddick.com/obituaries/Russell-Chapman-3/#!/Obituary" target="_blank">obituary</a>, he is survived by his
