We will discuss the effects of acute and chronic stress on the body at the cellular level. The presentation will focus on specific nutrients that become depleted during the stress response which ultimately lead to dis-ease in the body including depression, anxiety, hormone imbalance and immune dysfunction. We will also explore organ systems that are taxed during traumatic and stressful events and how diet and other lifestyle changes can support the body through these periods of transition.
Objectives:  Identify 3 ways in which stress impacts your body's organ systemsDiscuss the role nutrients play in protecting against stress-induced depletion.Explain the role of the Autonomic nervous system in stress induced dis-ease. 
 About the Presenter: Dr. Karen Lamb is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor and Professional Counselor, and is the owner of Pura Vida Natural Medicine, located near Old Town Scottsdale. She received her Masters in Counseling from Arizona State University in 2 005 and her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2011. Her specialty as a physician is finding the root cause of chronic physical and/or psychological diseases. She uses natural, safe and effective treatment, such as acupuncture, homeopathy, micro and macro nutrition, in order to unlock the body's immense potential for regeneration.
