Counselors often find themselves in situations where they seek interventions to best meet the needs of children and adolescents. When assisting children and adolescents, feelings and behaviors can change very quickly and many children and teens are already equipped to solve minor and routine behavioral problems. Solution Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) has proven to be a great tool for busy counselors to help children and teens seeking assistance. This webinar will introduce creative and effective SFBC techniques counselors can use in both individual and group counseling.

Learning Objectives:

1. Attendees will gain a better understanding of emphasizing solutions instead of problems.
2. Attendess will learn the 12 basic assumptions of SFBC.
3. Attendees will discover strategies to implement SFBC in small and individual group counseling.

Dr. Natalie F. Spencer lives in Greensboro, NC. She is a Carolina alumna with a BA in English, a MEd in School Counseling, and a PhD in Counselor Education from NC State University. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling at North Carolina A&T State University. Her current research interests include school counseling, grief and loss, and the use of mindfulness and mindful techniques. Her personal interests include running and spending time with family and friends.

CSI Webinars are free to active members and $39 for guests.
