Infusing EcoWellness into Counseling Practice Without Leaving the Office
Dr. Ryan F. Reese, Core Faculty, Oregon State University Cascades
Friday, April 24, 2015
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT
The natural environment has profound impacts on our wellbeing. Simply put, nature heals, and counselors can open up a whole new world to their clients by bringing nature into counseling. The challenge for many professional counselors is that they can't take clients outdoors, whether that be because of policy, location, or a lack of comfort with the practice. The purpose of this CSI webinar is to introduce several practical strategies for bringing nature indoors. Attendees will walk away with knowledge regarding EcoWellness assessment, EcoWellness action planning, creating a natural atmosphere in the office, and engaging in mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques entrenched in the principles of EcoWellness. Regardless of your orientation to nature, you can strengthen your counseling practice through attending this webinar.
Dr. Ryan Reese is a core faculty member in the MS Counseling program at Oregon State University Cascades and a professional counselor in private practice in Bend, Oregon. He meets with clients in indoor and outdoor settings and finds that his nature-based approach reaches all kinds of people, including those who absolutely love the outdoors and those who have minimal experience in nature.
CSI Webinars are free to active members and $39 for guests.
Registration for the live webinar is now closed. If you are unable to attend the live webinar, you may access the recorded webinar for a CEU clock hour as well; it will be posted on the Recorded Webinars page within 72 hours after the live event.
