Five New Diagnoses for the DSM-5 This webinar will include an overview of five new diagnoses included in the DSM-5: Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, Binge Eating Disorder, Hoarding Disorder, and expanded V-codes.  For each diagnosis, the presenter will attend to diagnostic criteria, provide an overview of considerations and controversies, summarize current thoughts regarding treatment implications, and outline resources for continuing education.

This webinar will include an overview of five new diagnoses included in the DSM-5: Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, Binge Eating Disorder, Hoarding Disorder, and expanded V-codes. For each diagnosis, the presenter will attend to diagnostic criteria, provide an overview of considerations and controversies related to the diagnosis, summarize current thoughts regarding evidence-based treatment implications, and outline resources for continuing education.

By participating in this session, you will:
1. Understand diagnostic criteria for five new diagnoses in the DSM-5
2. Identify key considerations for treatment
3. Become familiar with resources for continuing education

Casey A. Barrio Minton is an associate professor and counseling program coordinator at the University of North Texas. Her clinical experiences include serving clients in a range of outpatient, residential, intensive outpatient, and inpatient mental health settings with a focus on crisis intervention and stabilization. She has authored multiple book chapters and journal articles focused on counselor preparation and crisis intervention . Dr. Barrio Minton is co-author of The Professional Counselor, co-author of DSM-5 Learning Companion for Counselors, and co-editor of Professional Counseling Excellence through Leadership and Advocacy. She is a past-president of Chi Sigma Iota International, president of the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling, and serves the counseling profession through a variety of editorial board and committee assignments.
