Leaders and Legacies: Contributions to the Profession of Counseling
Leaders and Legacies: Contributions to the Profession of Counseling is a recent (2003, February) book publication of Taylor and Francis/Brunner-Routledge (ISBN #0-415-94458-9). The book is edited by three counseling faculty members at Kent State University (John West, Cynthia Osborn, and Don Bubenzer) and has been endorsed by Chi Sigma Iota. Leaders and Legacies considers leadership involvements in the historical development of the profession of counseling as well as possibilities for the cultivation of leadership. The Wellness Cube Model (WCM) created by Thomas Foster is an innovative curriculum resource designed to help counselor educators and students infuse wellness into their coursework, counseling programs, and personal and professional growth and development. An Adlerian-based academic intervention model, the WCM is an interactive model organized around the CACREP Standards and the Indivisible Self Wellness Model (Sweeney & Myers, 2005). The intersection of each wellness and curricular component includes both content assignments and experiential exercises to promote wellness. There is no charge for using the Cube, which may be accessed on line.
More information about the model may be found in the CSI Author Showcase and a review by Phil Clarke, CSI Intern and Counselor’s Bookshelf Editor, is included in the Counselor’s Bookshelf.
