RE: Support for Re-Activation of our Counseling Honor Society Chapter (Sample Letter)
We are pleased to support the re-activation of our Chi Sigma Iota chapter. As with other campus based honor societies, we understand that faculty and administrative support are essential to its establishment and maintenance in order to be successful.
We are aware, for example, that two regular, full time faculty counselor educators (preferably CACREP graduates) must be willing to serve as Chapter Faculty Advisor to sustain an active chapter. Such individuals must be eligible or active members of CSI who are willing to mentor, oversee the operation of the chapter, and verify suitability of candidates nominated for membership by the chapter. We understand, however, that CSI requires only one such individual serve as Chapter Faculty Advisor at any given time.
(In the event that the counselor education program is not currently nationally accredited by CACREP and/or CORE) We are pleased to report that this administration is committed to supporting the counselor education program seeking CACREP accreditation within 5 years. We understand that should the above conditions not be met within the five years from the date of the re-activation of the chapter, our chapter will be inactive and ineligible to initiate new members or otherwise function as an active chapter.
The faculty and administration look forward to helping our students and graduates celebrate their academic successes and to join in their professional development through our chapter’s activities. If further information is needed, please let me know.
